ABOUT
US

Kamma Organization for Development Initiatives (KODI) is a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in November 2005 through the involvement of key community representatives in the then unified Republic of the Sudan. The organization is registered with the SRRA, since its inception, in Kauda, Nuba Mountains/South Kordofan, and in Juba, South Sudan, with the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, since 2011. KODI was also registered in Kenya with the NGO coordination Board in 2015. KODI has its offices in Nairobi-Kenya,.  South Sudan:  Juba- Yida, and South Kordofan/Nuba mountains:  Kauda , Tunguli in Dellami  and New Tagle .

A vibrant, developed, self-sufficient and peaceful Nuba communities.

Mission

KODI exists to empower Nuba communities to be peaceful, developed and self- sufficient through trainings, facilitation and provision of necessary skills, Knowledge, tools, equipment and materials necessary for development.

Our Core Values

    KODI is guided and cherishes the core values of:

  1. Accountability: KODI is obliged to demonstrate that work has been conducted in accordance with agreed rules and standards, and report fairly and accurately on performance results against mandated roles and/or plans

  2. Participation: All men and women should have a voice in decision-making, either directly or through legitimate intermediate institutions that represent their interests.

  3. Transparency: Processes, institutions and information are directly accessible to those concerned with them, and enough information is provided to understand and monitor them. Transparency is built on the free flow of information.

  4. Equity: Our society’s well-being depends on ensuring that all its members feel that they have a stake in it and do not feel excluded from the mainstream of society. This requires all groups, but particularly the most vulnerable, have opportunities to improve or maintain their well-being.

Organizational Structure

KODI consists of three administrative levels designed to provide the necessary checks and balances in the management of its affairs:
 

  1. The General Assembly; as the organization’s supreme decision-making organ.

  2. The Board of Trustees; elected by the members of the GeneralAssembly to formulate policies and supervise the management of the organization’s affairs on their behalf.

  3. The management office of KODI, which is the executive arm of the organization responsible of implementing the decisions made by both the General Assembly and the Board of Trustees in a day-to-day manner.
